Keep your keys
out of reach.

A hardware wallet keeps your private keys isolated from internet-connected devices. You approve transactions on the device itself, so your keys remain under your control.

LEDGER.COM/START®

A better beginning
for your digital assets.

Ledger.com/start® is your starting point for setting up a Ledger hardware wallet. Your device is designed to keep your private keys offline, giving you a more secure way to manage your digital assets and interact with crypto. Begin by downloading Ledger Live from Ledger’s official website. Then connect your device and follow the instructions shown in the app and on the device screen. During setup, your Ledger will generate a unique 24-word recovery phrase. This phrase is the master backup to your wallet: write it down on paper, keep it somewhere private, and never store or share it online. Ledger support will never ask you for it. After setup, use Ledger Live to explore supported accounts, manage your portfolio, and review transactions you approve directly on your device. Always check website addresses, download software only from official Ledger channels, and confirm transaction details on the device display before approving. If anything feels unexpected, stop and consult Ledger’s official support resources. A careful setup helps you build good security habits from day one. Your keys remain yours; take the time to protect them. Ledger.com/start® brings these essentials together so you can move forward at your own pace, with practical guidance rooted in self-custody. Keep your device and recovery phrase in separate, secure places, and revisit official help resources whenever you need a refresher.

Where should I download Ledger Live?

Download Ledger Live only from the official Ledger website at ledger.com/ledger-live. Check the address carefully before downloading, and avoid links from ads, unsolicited messages, or unofficial app stores.

What is my recovery phrase for?

Your 24-word recovery phrase is the offline backup to your wallet. Write it down and store it somewhere private and secure. Ledger will never ask you to share it online, and no legitimate support agent should request it.

Do I need to connect my Ledger device to set it up?

Yes. Follow the on-screen instructions in Ledger Live and connect your device with a trusted USB cable or the supported wireless connection for your model. Verify prompts directly on the device screen.

What if I already have a recovery phrase?

Only restore a wallet if you are certain the recovery phrase is yours and was generated securely. Never enter a phrase provided by someone else or into a website, chat, or computer keyboard.
